At check-in, I asked receptionist that how long it takes to get fron Paddington station to Heathrow Airport by train. She searched for the route and said "it take an one hour and a bit more" and showed me the computer screen. There is a Heathrow Express that can be reached in about 30 minutes, but the cost will be £ 25 (around 3,500 yen). The departure time of the plane is 11:45, change the train once, moreover I knew that no need to change the platform, so I had decided to use a cheaper one.

Waited for the bus for about 30 minutes and got on the bus, only sitting on and to arrive at the terminal station but, planned to arrive at Didcot Parkway Station in about 23 minutes, it not seemed of arrival even after 30 minutes have elapsed. The bus took on a motorway and not in a traffic jam.

Yesterday, train ticket office assistant said me,
"Do not miss the train, which deperture from Didcot Parkway Station at 12.03 o'clock!"
I've already got the simulation of the timetable that check out the hotel, go to the Oxford station then catch the bus to didcot parkway station. When I went to the Cotswolds yesterday, I've made mistakenly got on the bus and went to Didcot · Parkway station.

There were about 3 people lined up at the bus stop, and one bus came within a few minutes but, as the bus stopped about 10 meters ahead, I quickly pushed the suitcase and headed for the front door for boarding. point : My suitcase can not move without skateboarding.

R & B style guy who spoke before asked me kindly voice saying "Do you need help?". But, as I already started getting on the bus with a momentum, so I just said "No, that's OK, thx" with smile again.

Arrived at Oxford station, been to the temporary bus stop in the car parking, the passengers of bus going to each destinations are lining up in the same lined one row, so that was long
queque. I went the assistant to ask where is the bus stop and what time to leave.

"Final call, depart for Didocot · Parkway station in 5 minutes."
Is that's might be my bus? looked at the assistant.
"It's too late, wait for the next bus, leaving at 9:45."
dry response then the conversation ended.

Certainly it take about 3 minutes from the instant ticket gate to the bus stop.
It might be made it if I made a dash?
I thought it would might take more than 5 minutes because I have a handicap in my suitcase that it is difficult to steer because of wheel breakdown. I reluctantly walked to the end of the row, but since the passengers are lined up one after another, so I went back too far.

When leaving at 9:45, I arrive at Didocot · Parkway station at 10:45 even though it is late. I was relieved for the moment as I am on time for the train. When I while in a row and been in front of a special tent,

His line of sight was my suitcase on skateboarding. He continued to praise this first aid. If I sell it, I thought he might buy one. I showed the power of Japan in the good old days, and had smug face.

So, I bought a ticket for departure at 12: 3 Didocot · Parkway station with plenty of time. Price £ 10.50.

Ticket officer said,
'Do not be late and miss the train! otherwise you will have to pay extra fee.'
he gave special attention to me that point.
He probably worried me that had to took by bus by irregular railroad construction during this period.
He carefully wrote that the temporary bus stop is located at the parking lot.

Bought a ticket and took the bus from the station to the town area near the hotel. Took a photo the screen shot of the destination 'SPEEDWELL ST' bus stop, but both of them missed the best shot.

I found a nostalgic ice cream sign with Magdalen Bridge.

When I went to the direction of the signboard, there was a student of the shop assistant who started to close the shop and I got permission for taking pictures.

I tried to take a picture in the same way with 1998, but the ice cream was melted and could not even hold it in my hand. I wanted to know that if the shop aready closed and freezer was cut off...

The rest of the trip is 2 days. And return to London tomorrow.

DAY12 (7/31) Morton in Marsh, a walk of tragedy.

When  walk straight ahead on High Street, the view changes from historical town to residential area.
2214b

And the road changes name from High Street to Stow Road.
2214c

After walking for about 10 minutes from the town I found the bus stop but the bus will not come until 18.00.
2214a

As pass the bus stop the paved road will be gone and  the road is footpath between rice fields!
2214

However, there is a way to walk. 3 minutes later...
2215

It's look like a footpath, but...
C2216

Continued walking on the road which is like animal trail.
2218a

Continued walking further and fully enjoyed the farm landscape.
2217

Then, it became a road again paved from here.
2218

A stream is over there.
2219

Crossed the cute little bridge.
2220

Return to animal road soon...
2220a

23 minutes later...spreading golden field.
2221

The sky is clear blue and it lasts endlessly.
2222

Both roadsides already grass is up to knee length.
2223

The hardest part in this walk. The height of the grass on both sides is above the knee, branches of the tree covering my head and the road is a gentle curve. It was very dangerous because I could not see the car coming from the front.
2223a

Three-way junction appeared here, but none of  the word "BORTON ON THE WATER" on the road signs.
2224a

The road on the right. straight road that goes far, if it is a private house, it is hard to turn back!
2224b

Why a famous sightseeing spot sign does not have on the road sign?
I have already walked for 40 minutes, but is the town that I see in the distance is the destination?

2224

Finally I made a bitter decision. I chose to turn back!
I was not convinced that I will reach the destination even if I continue walking for an hour afterwards, more than anything, the road was like animal path.

Promptly return the way where I've been walking. When I got back to the station around 15:40, the bus was at the bus stop. When I asked the bus driver about departure time, it was departing at 17:40.
Had consider that should be wait for two hours and to go to Bourton on the Water or not.
Because it is summer time, outside is bright until about 21 o'clock, even if the shop is closed, it seems that the historical cityscape looks lovely, so may be able to take a lot of photos. Can be spend time at the pub until departure.

However, my legs were near the limits. I am good at walking long distances from my usual, but my energy consumption was high in this animal road.

Go straight to the station and waited for a train which leaving at 16:20.
I saw a bus stop over the platform. I thought it was time to go back for a moment, but even if I got to the destination I haven't got much information for sightseeing at all and there is no person in the visitor center and has only the city map on the bulletin board, even if it is lucky there has a sightseeing information map. Feel lonesome about the spread of the Internet.

The return train arrived at Oxford took only 29 minutes.

At the end, the sight spot of the beautiful Cotswolds could catch only a few historical buildings. In the next time, to check more deeply sightseeing spots and then will be back again. About 7 hours of Cotswolds my short trip was finished.
